The Woodlands, TX(July 1, 2010) -- Brennan Poole is having a career season in the ranks of the UARA-STARS Late Model Stock Car touring series, known for having the best competition in all of Late Model racing.

On April 16th, the young driver in his second full season in a Late Model Stock Car, picked up his first career UARA-STARS Series win on the 4/10 mile Tri-County Motor Speedway, the same track he had picked up his first career Late Model Stock Car win on a year earlier. However, neighboring Hickory Motor Speedway, the home track for Fat Head Racing, the team in which Poole competes for had been somewhat of an achilles heel for the young driver. In over eight starts on the historic 3/8 mile track in

2009, Poole hadn't been able to really get a grip on what is noted as one of the toughest tracks in the SouthEast, but he was beginning to turn it around.

This season kicked off at "America's Most Famous Short Track" in Hickory and after some pre-season testing, Poole was among the fastest in practice, but had some issues in qualifying and was forced to start 16th. The young driver showing that he had learned how to race on the tough track rallied to finish fourth and with that finish set the tone for the start of Poole's season as he began to reel off top five finishes and then broke through at Tri-County.

Turn the page to the start of the second half of the season, which kicked off at Hickory on Saturday, June 26th and Poole and his Fat Head Racing team brought their A-game. Poole was again fast in practice and then posted the sixth fastest qualifying speed before the drop of the green flag where the young driver appeared to have a solid top five car. Poole didn't just have a top five car as the young driver was just riding through the early laps as he let the cars in front of him use their stuff up and when the time was right, Poole was ready to pounce.

Poole began to make his charge to the front late in the race as he chased down the leader and then ran side by side with him for several laps before making his way into the top spot. Once in the lead, Poole flexed his muscle as he began to pull away from the field and show everyone that he had the car to beat. Poole drove to his second career win in a performance that left no doubt that Hickory was his new favorite track and that the young driver had in just one short year, became one of the best on a tough track.

"Man, to win at Hickory is awesome," said Poole after pulling into victory lane. "My guys have always given me good cars here at Hickory, but it just never seemed like we could get it all together to win, but when we qualified in sixth, I knew we had a chance."

Poole drove a brilliant race, biding his time racing among the top five and then pulling the trigger and making his move at the right time and then pulling away from some of best in the series at Hickory Motor Speedway.

"That was our plan, I knew from the drop of the green flag that we had a car capable of winning," commented Poole. "We just rode through the early parts of the race and shortly after we passed the halfway point we decided it was time to go. We went a little early last week at Myrtle Beach and it cost us another win, so this week we knew we had to do it at the right time and I'd say we timed it just right."

Poole's win also made him the first repeat winner in the UARA-STARS Series this season and brought him a few points closer to the lead in the series points standings as he closed to 16 points of the leader.

"It's pretty cool to be the first repeat winner this season," continued Poole. "It shows how competitive this season is in the UARA to have so many winners before someone repeated. I'm proud of this team, they've given me everything I need this season and together we're showing what this team is made of. Now, we've just got to stay focused on this championship."

Poole's chase for the championship will continue again this weekend as the UARA-STARS Series celebrates the Independence Day weekend at Lonesome Pine Raceway in Coeburn, VA. Poole had a great run going last season before a lap car stacked the field up in front of him and he spun out of a top five position. This year he's looking to carry the momentum he's been building to another strong run on the 3/8 mile track.

"Lonesome Pine is a good track for us and I think we can keep the ball rolling up there this weekend. We went up there and tested and I think we'll be pretty good when we unload and if we can make the right changes to the car, we might have another shot to win."
